Character Unit
My 2nd
graders are in the midst of our dynamic characters unit. Students are learning
how to analyze characters over a series.
At my school 2nd graders have 20ish minutes of uninterrupted
reading time each day. I always to make sure students are understanding what
they are reading. I have created some
fun ways to check understanding.
My students and I
are currently obsessed with these flip books. Writing seems to be more fun when writing on astro brights. It usually takes my students about a week to completely finish a flip book.
My students love
the “character bunting”. This is also great for
ESL students who are relying on pictures to show understanding.
These are super cute. Such a great idea to have them answer character questions in a creative and informative way!
